On July 9th, we visited Konta-nouen located in Kahoku Town, Yamagata Prefecture. Taking full advantage of the area’s climate and soil, the farm cultivates and sells cherries, La France pears, taro, and Chinese yam. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to speak with the owner, Mr. Mitsuhiro Konta, about expanding sales channels by attaching QMS TRACE QR codes to their premium “Beni-Shuhō” cherries.

As a trial of QMS TRACE, one box of the final shipment of Beni-Shuhō cherries was affixed with a QR code containing both product details and farm information, and then delivered to a customer. Since this was the first transaction, we utilized pre-registered data in QMS TRACE to issue and send an invoice during the visit. Mr. Konta commented that invoices are usually handwritten or created in Word and sent by mail, so switching to this system could greatly reduce time and cost.
Buyers also benefit, as invoices linked to pre-associated product data can be clearly visualized in PDF format, streamlining their payment process.
Konta-nouen has been featured in the media, with their cherries selling out rapidly. Mr. Konta shared, “Because we’re short-staffed, improving operational efficiency is crucial. Running our HP ourselves gives us a deep understanding of the value and necessity of digital tools. I truly grasp how digitalization drives efficiency.”

This visit reaffirmed the potential of QMS TRACE to add value to agricultural products and create opportunities for consumers to experience that value firsthand. We believe our App will play a meaningful role in the future development of regional industries—and we are eager to support Konta-nouen’s efforts through QMS TRACE.
